First Business Steps

Cookie Policy

Last updated: 29 April 2026

This page explains what cookies and similar technologies First Business Steps uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies are necessary for the site to work. They are set automatically and cannot be turned off. We use them for:

  • Authentication sessions - when you sign in, Supabase sets a session token in your browser so you stay logged in across pages. This is strictly necessary for the account and purchase access features to function.

Essential cookies do not track you for advertising purposes and are not shared with third-party marketers.

Analytics cookies (optional)

With your permission, we use PostHog to collect pseudonymous analytics data about how our tools and pages are used. This helps us understand which tools are most useful and where we can improve.

What PostHog collects when you accept analytics:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Tool interactions (e.g. which tools were started or completed)
  • General browser and device type (not linked to your identity)

PostHog does not collect raw answer text, individual input values, or record your screen. Session recording is disabled.

PostHog data is pseudonymous - it is not linked to your name or email unless you are signed in and have accepted analytics. PostHog is hosted in the United States. For more detail, see the PostHog privacy policy.

Analytics cookies are only set after you click Accept analytics on the banner. If you click Only essential, or if you have not yet made a choice, PostHog is not loaded and no analytics data is collected.

Managing your preferences

Your cookie choice is stored in your browser’s local storage. To change your preference:

  • Clear your browser’s local storage or site data for firstbusinesssteps.com - the banner will reappear on your next visit so you can make a new choice.
  • In most browsers: Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear browsing data → select “Cookies and site data” for this site.
